Fr. Brent Otto S.J.
Today, we’re joined by Brent Otto, S.J., a historian of modern South Asia and a Ph.D. candidate at UC Berkeley. Specializing in colonial and post-colonial South Asia, his research explores race, caste, Indian Christianity, and missionary education.
As a Jesuit, Brent has studied, ministered, and researched across the U.S., U.K., India, and beyond. He’s also the managing editor of the Journal of Global Catholicism and co-editor of the International Journal of Anglo-Indian Studies.
Beyond academia, he finds deep purpose in spiritual direction and preaching.
